Additional Notes: The German Honorary Commemorative Medal of the World War was conferred upon German citizens, male and female, who faithfully served Germany during the First World War by serving in both civilian and military roles. When the Medal was conferred upon a veteran of the front line, they were allowed to purchase a laurel wreath device to be worn on the medal’s ribbon.
