Group of 5 Japanese medals, 4 with cases or boxes. Medals include: Japanese 1937 China Incident War Medal in Case. Ribbon with hook and eye suspension. Worn condition. Japanese 1931-34 Manchurian Incident War Medal in case. Medal has the original ribbon with hook and eye attachment. On the bar is written “Military Medal of Honor” reading from right to left. Medal is in hard-shelled box of issue. Worn and used condition. Japanese 1904/1905 Russo-Japanese War Medal in damaged wood presentation box for the War between Japan and Russia in 1904. Worn condition.   Additional Notes: The China Incident War Medal, established in 1939 and awarded to Japanese soldiers departing for service in the undeclared war against China and came in a award case. Bronze colored medal, to its reverse are three stylized mountains and stylized water against which is a row of four kanji characters, translating to “China Incident.” To the face of the bar is embossed a row of four kanji characters, translating to “War Medal”. The Japanese 1931-1934 Incident War Medal (Manchurian Incident) (also known as “Showa 6-9 years Incident Military Medal of Honor”) was enacted in July of 1934 and was awarded to soldiers that took part in the Manchurian Incident.  The ribbon is decorated with the shade vine of Seocho, which appears in “Kojiki”, to express the honor of the incident. The crimson color means the intense loyalty, the red sincerity of the Yamato people and the Japanese flag and the yellow color means the birth (of the Nation) of Manchuria. The 1904–05 Russo-Japanese War Medal. A unique jūgun kishō was ordered on March 31, 1906 in recognition of those who served in the war which occurred during the 37th and 38th years of the Meiji period — Meiji 37-38 (1904–1905).
