United States Navy CPO (Chief Petty Officer) Group of two Insignia. Clutch back. One insignia marked Vanguard 154 and Sterling, the other insignia marked with the H-H logo and Sterling. Most likely 1950s-1970s era. Nice condition. Additional Notes: The U.S. Navy CPO cap badges consist of a gold fouled anchor with silver block letters “USN” superimposed on the anchor’s shank. There can be one, two, or three silver stars attached above the anchor’s stock indicating Senior Chief, Master Chief, and Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy. Navy chief petty officers serve a dual role as both technical experts and as leaders, with an increasing emphasis on leadership as they progress through the CPO paygrades. Like petty officers, every chief petty officer has both a rate and a rating. A chief petty officer’s full title is a combination of the two.
