Inspired by Gustave Doré's “David slays Goliath”, a young girl is representing all humans that are being oppressed by a male-dominated society and its obsolete structures. By holding the severed head of the old man high, the girl is triumphing over all the outdated norms, traditions and structures that are still dominating the daily lives of many people in a destructive manner. Looking both angry and graceful, she is fighting for the future and the equality of all people, no matter where they come from, what they look like or how they choose to live. The tote bag measures approximately 36 x 40 x 7 cm and has 60 cm long handles. Designed by myself and screen printed with lilac ink by the local print shop TIME/LESS prints.
