Quelaag – Art Print of my original ink illustration Caused by the hubris of her mother – the great Witch of Izalith – which tried to recreate the First Flame and fatally failed, Quelaag, as well as most of her other siblings, were turned into fearsome demons. She and one of her sisters however, could at least keep their mind and upper body unaffected by the Flame of Chaos, while their lower body mutated into a giant spider. While her sister fell into a coma-like state after fleeing from Izalith and settling down at their new home in the base of Blighttown, Quelaag uses her pyromancy to protect her sister and herself from intruders. Both her arachnoid lower torso, as well as the “Fury Sword” she is wielding, can evoke the Flame of Chaos, that the Witch of Izalith brought into the world.
